I am a woman in my late thirties, originally from around Paris and now living somewhere in the Normandy countryside. I love nature and animals. I'm a goldfish fanatic and I've had them since I was a little girl. I registered on the game on August 03, 2010, just to pass the time during a rainy day. I quickly got hooked on the game and have seen it evolve since.
I think I have tested all the possibilities of the game: from the simple quiet hobby to breed a few horses in my early days, to the intensive GP increase breeding, to the various collections. But my favourite part of the game is helping other players. So it was logical that I spent a lot of time answering players in the help forum. And then one thing led to another and I wanted to contribute even more by proposing a help page, then two, then three... and the Wikikideow was born.

What to say about me, I'm a man born in 1988 from Normandy. I like mangas (Bleach, One piece, among others), computers, amateur radio, and astronomy in my spare time. I ended up registering, without much conviction to play, to equideow on January 01, 2013 to please my wife: Schtroumpfette76.
Although I tested a little playing the BLUP race, taking care of pixel horses does not amuse me especially. On the other hand, liking to code and as I also spent a lot of time answering on the help to the game, it was natural that I participate in the creation of the wikikideow.

The history of the site

It is unfortunately impossible to retrace the entire history of this site chronologically and in details. We did not keep a logbook and our memories are not good enough to remember it. What is certain is that before it had a name, Wikikideow was only an addition of some "raw" pages without any link between them. They were not even intended for the community, but just for our own gameplay "comfort". Even the Golden Horns directory was basically a simple database of images because we wanted to see all the ones that had been created. Curiosity when you hold us...

And then by force of habit of answering in the help section we ended up thinking that we weren't the only ones curious about the game or in need of useful functions directly available from equideow. We shared some pages with our friends and then with our friends' friends and so on. Quickly all our little pages found their public and we expanded and multiplied them according to the requests and our desires. After about 2 years, it became obvious that simple scattered pages were not enough anymore, we had to group them, list them, harmonise them : the Wikikideow was born ! And it continued to grow, even going international for some pages like the custom UFOs or the divine gifts.

We were very proud of our site and its use by the community gave value to all the hours spent on it. Alas, changes in our jobs and health concerns have left us with less and less free time and will to keep the site up to date... And then a baby smurf arrived and the little time and energy we had left for the Wikikideow, and equideow in general, was gone. And the site was left to its own fortune.

Nevertheless, even if we didn't have time for the game anymore, we still used to log in from time to time, not to let our games be deleted, but also out of curiosity (yes, still curiosity) about the evolution of the game.
To our great surprise, we regularly had requests in our mailboxes concerning the site. Requests for updates, registrations for a planned function which implementation hadn't been possible yet and even to point out spelling mistakes to correct. And believe me, for amateur creators like us, this kind of messages several months, then several years after having stopped updating a site is really heartwarming.

The future of Wikikideow

After almost 3 years of neglect, some free time is coming back and, encouraged by YOU who prevented the site from being forgotten, we have started to get it back on track. Unfortunately, and paradoxically, the future of the site has never been so uncertain...

Indeed, we don't count anymore the many, many hours spent to create the site, several years ago, and the hours still needed to update it, to keep it up to date and why not to add new features such as a translation of the site into English. So much less time to spend with our family and our son.
It is also important to know that the domain name of the site as well as its hosting costs us about 300€ per year. The first page having been created approximately 7 years ago, the site has cost us 2 100€ since its creation. We must also add to this the costs of the computer equipment used for the development and turned on almost permanently at home.
With the current health crisis, and only one salary to support us, we can no longer afford to offer you the Wikikideow without financial support from the community.

We could opt to put ads directly on the site as others do, but we prefer voluntary and non-invasive contributions in order to keep our site clear and pleasant to browse.
We have therefore opted for the creation of a Tipeee page. Your tips, small or big, one-off or regular, are intended to help us pay for the hosting costs of the site so that the community can continue to enjoy it.
We're counting on you, whether you're a player from the beginning or a newcomer, to show us that our work over the years has not been in vain and that it matters to you as much as it does to us!
